As a Salesforce Commerce Cloud Engineer (aka Demandware Engineer) you play a key role in Fluid’s Salesforce Commerce Cloud (Demandware) eCommerce implementations for top tier US and global brands.  The work that you do will win awards and will be enjoyed by millions of online shoppers around the world. This role can be 100% remote but preference is for someone to be based in our New York City office. 

You will be experienced in end to end Salesforce Commerce Cloud (Demandware) implementation projects including working in a highly innovative and collaborative environment with a best in class team of interaction designers, visual designers, strategists and engineers. You will be a top notch hands on coder with either a front-end or back-end specialization who is also willing to do development with Javascript, HTML and CSS for non-Demandware related projects. 

Responsibilities 

  • Translate functional requirements, architecture and technical documentation into quality Salesforce Commerce Cloud (Demandware) eCommerce applications.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Design Teams to lead and support effective technical delivery of client projects.
  • Write great code; and collaborate with peers engineers to solve technical problems.
  • Evaluate the technical viability of commercial tools and products for use as possible elements in an overall application.
  • Champion high quality testing, documentation and code management practices.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience developing high-performance and scalable websites – including experience implementing Salesforce Commerce Cloud (Demandware) eCommerce applications.
  • Experience with web technologies including Java, J2EE, SOA, application servers, middleware, enterprise application integration, databases, security, performance & scalability
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
  • Strong interpersonal, team building, organizational and motivational skills are a must
  • Client facing experience for pitches and presentations needed
  • Up to 25% travel within the US and overseas as needed

Desired Experience

  • Expertise working with a broad set of development tools/technologies a plus
  • Expert knowledge in crafting production grade, semantic markup (HTML5) a plus
  • Wizard in delivering elegant CSS3 solutions and optimizing using Sass/Compass a plus
  • Equally skilled writing vanilla JavaScript or working with a JavaScript library (e.g. jQuery) a plus
  • Knowledge of eCommerce best practices including catalog management, product merchandising, checkout, order management, personalization and SEO
  • Knowledge of best practice visual and interaction design concepts and related creative processes.
  • Ability to push the limits of Javascript to create compelling visual interfaces
